Injury Update Ahead Of Leicester Vs United
Jose Mourinho has told MUTV that Phil Jones is the only senior player who is unavailable for Manchester United’s Premier League away match against Leicester City on Sunday.
Jones was substituted in the second half of the Reds’ goalless draw against Hull City at Old Trafford in midweek and the in-form defender later told us that he had a bruised foot. The problem is not thought to be too serious, yet the manager has confirmed the centre-back is not ready to feature at the King Power Stadium.
When asked about his options for the East Midlands trip, Mourino reported: "Only Phil Jones is not in the condition to play."
Meanwhile, Joel Pereira is facing a period of absence after picking up an injury and that is a particularly disappointing blow for the young Portuguese goalkeeper following his first-team debut against Wigan Athletic last weekend.
Nineteen-year-old goalkeeper Dean Henderson has consequently been recalled from his loan spell at Grimsby Town to fill in as third choice behind David De Gea and Sergio Romero.
