Ibrahimovic: Giving Up Is Not An Option
Manchester United striker Zlatan Ibrahimovic has provided his first response to the injury setback he suffered in last week's Europa League quarter-final victory over Anderlecht.
The Swede posted a message on Instagram after the club confirmed both he and Marcos Rojo suffered knee ligament damage during Thursday's match at Old Trafford.
"First of all, thank you for all the support and love," said Ibrahimovic. "It's no news I got injured so I will be out of football for a while. I will go through this like everything else and come back even stronger.
"So far, I played with one leg so it shouldn't be any problem. One thing is for sure, I decide when it's time to stop and nothing else. Giving up is not an option. See you soon."
The 35-year-old has enjoyed a fabulous season with the Reds and will be sorely missed, with the players wearing Zlatan and Rojo's names on their training tops when warming up before Sunday's 2-0 Premier League triumph at Burnley in a show of support.
Ibrahimovic, United's top scorer this term, has scored 28 goals in all competitions for the Reds in his first season with the club.
