Mkhitaryan 'Still Adapting' To Premier League

Manchester United wide-man Henrikh Mkhitaryan believes he is still adapting to English football, and says he is a different animal when on the pitch.

Mkhitaryan signed for United in the summer for £26.3m from Bundesliga outfit Borussia Dortmund, but injury has disrupted his maiden season in the Premier League.

The Armenia captain was subbed at half-time during his full debut at home to rivals Manchester City, and did not appear in the league for almost two months thereafter.

While only notching four goals in the league this campaign, the 28-year-old has registered five times from 10 games for United in the Europa League, helping the club to the final, and he has listed areas for improvement to his game.

"What have I learned? I think the pace, the quickness and the strength because, being here, you have to adapt to the English Premier League and to the football," Mkhitaryan told Inside United. "That is what I am doing now.

"I am really different on the football pitch. I try to be like a beast or a monster! I fight for every ball and try to do my best.

"Outside of the pitch, I am more quiet and more humble, and I don't like to be very aggressive or anything like that."

Manchester United travel to Tottenham on Sunday, live on Sky Sports 1 HD. Jose Mourinho's men are currently sat sixth in the league, five points off the Champions League places.

As such, United's Europa League final against Ajax in Stockholm on May 24 appears to be the club's most likely route back into Europe's premier club competition.
