Vidic: Our Best Game

Nemanja Vidic labelled United's 3-1 victory at Fulham as the team's best performance of the season so far.

The Reds stormed into a three-goal lead after just 22 minutes thanks to strikes from Antonio Valencia, Robin van Persie and Wayne Rooney. The United captain reserved special praise for van Persie and Rooney, citing their movement as key to United's excellent attacking play.

"I was really pleased with Robin and Wayne," he told MUTV. "In the first 30 minutes they played terrific football and we need them to keep doing that. Their movement was terrific; they got a goal each and set up the other for Antonio. It was a good sign for us and for the team.

"I would say so," he added, when asked if it was the United's most impressive display of the season. "We did really well in the first 20 minutes and passed the ball well. We dropped off a bit after 30 minutes and probably thought the game was over. Overall, there were lots of positives for us and also areas in which we can improve."

David Moyes was forced into a triple substitution at the break after a spate of injuries, but Vidic was pleased that the changes did little to affect United's momentum.

"Obviously we weren’t expecting to have to make three changes at half-time but I thought the players who came on did well," he said. "The most important thing is that we got the three points. We have to keep winning and also enjoy our football a little bit more and play like we did in the first 30 minutes. If we keep playing like this, we have a chance to have a good season."
