Carrick: There's More To Come
Manchester United midfielder Michael Carrick believes the Reds will follow up a run of five straight victories with improved performances after securing another important away win against Southampton on Monday.
The 33-year-old was a crucial cog in what could be a vital three points in United's quest to finish among the four Champions League qualifying places, and Carrick praised his team-mates' resilience after Southampton posed a threat throughout the match.
"We were under a bit of pressure and sometimes you've just got to ride that out," Carrick told MUTV. "We got into the game in the second half and getting that goal to win it puts us in a good position and helps us carry this run on."
United's no.16 was particularly encouraged by the way the Reds have found a knack to win even without turning in a complete performance. That leads Carrick to believe Reds fans can expect much more from the players over the coming weeks and months.
"I think we can take a lot of positives because we've been through a lot so far this season, with injuries and player rotations," he added. "With us playing in different formations I think it will help in the long run to adapt in certain games.
"There's definitely more to come from us, it's all about getting the points on the board and now is the time to carry that on."
