Ancelotti Contemplates Manchester United Job

Carlo Ancelotti has admitted that he contemplates managing Manchester United but he is eyeing a return to the game before Louis van Gaal's contract at Old Trafford expires.

Former AC Milan, Paris Saint-Germain and Chelsea boss Ancelotti, who was sacked by Real Madrid in May, insists he will not take a job in the middle of a season and wants a new club next summer.

Current United manager Van Gaal has maintained that he will retire when his current deal runs out in 2017 and remains to determined to win the Premier League with United this term.

Nevertheless, speaking to the Independent, 56-year-old Ancelotti said: "Of course every manager would think of managing Manchester United.

"I would like to come back in a club with a good project but, of course, one that is competitive.

"The Premier League is the best in the sense of atmosphere and ambience. It is also competitive, so I would like to come back, especially for the atmosphere.

"But I will continue to wait. If I don't find a club with a good project. I can wait. Let us see next summer. I will not take a job in mid-season, but I would like to work again next summer.

Ancelotti began his coaching career with Reggiana, Parma and then Juventus, with whom he wont the Intertoto Cup, in the mid-90s before an eight-year spell with Milan that yielded two Champions League trophies and a Serie A title.

He won the Premier League and FA Cup double with Chelsea in 2010 but was controversially sacked by owner Roman Abramovich, before turning to the French Ligue 1 with PSG, where he won the title in 2013.

Despite winning the Champions League with Real Madrid in 2014, Ancelotti was disposed of after failing to win a trophy with the club last season.
