Bailly Sets Comeback Date
Eric Bailly hopes to return to action for Manchester United within two months after suffering a knee injury during Sunday's defeat to Chelsea.
The centre-back sustained a suspected knee ligament injury during the first half of the 4-0 drubbing at Stamford Bridge on Sunday.
United manager Jose Mourinho admitted after the defeat that he feared Bailly had suffered a "really bad" knee ligament injury.
Bailly, who joined United for £30m from Villarreal in the summer, took to social media to thank fans for their concern and update them with a time-frame for a return.
"I wanted to thank you for all the messages of support that I received since the injury!" Bailly wrote on Instagram on Tuesday.
"I hope to be able to play again for United and The Elephants before 2 months, God willing. Thanks for always being there!'
Bailly is reported to have suffered lateral knee ligament damage, with that initial time frame seeing him miss up to 13 matches should United progress past Manchester City in Wednesday's EFL Cup tie.
The 22-year-old is likely to miss key Premier League clashes with Arsenal, Everton and Tottenham, while he is also expected to be called up by the Ivory Coast for the Africa Cup of Nations in the New Year.
