Young Targeted By Shandong Luneng

Chinese Super League club Shandong Luneng are interested in signing Ashley Young from Manchester United.

Sky sources understand Shandong are not in a rush to get the deal done because the Chinese window is open for another month.

Young - bought from Aston Villa in 2011 - has not started a league game for United for more than two months.

Shandong are managed by former Fulham boss Felix Magath and signed Italian striker Graziano Pelle from Southampton last summer.

Former Newcastle striker Papiss Cisse also plays for the Chinese club, who are currently third-bottom of the 16-team Super League.

Young has made 151 competitive appearances for United since his move from Villa five-and-a-half years ago, scoring 14 goals.

He has fallen out of favour since Jose Mourinho's arrival at Old Trafford, however, and just five of his 10 games this season have been as a starter.

Young is contracted at United for another year-and-a-half, with the option to extend that deal by a further 12 months.
