Jose Plans New Tactics In Second Tour Game
Jose Mourinho is planning a tactical reshuffle for Manchester United's second game of Tour 2017, presented by Aon.
The Reds travel to Salt Lake City on Monday to take on Real Salt Lake following Saturday's 5-2 victory over LA Galaxy.
Mourinho deployed a back three for the opening game of pre-season, but he revealed to MUTV that he will switch to a more familiar back four and will continue to try different players in different positions.
"We are not going to repeat in the next match the experience [of LA Galaxy], so players [will be] playing in different positions and thinking football in a different way, and being organised in a different way. We are also going to play with four at the back," explained the boss.
"We will work with the same principle - 45 and 45 [minutes] and, if there is a chance to give five or 10 minutes to another kid, it’s always good for them."
The Reds will play seven matches as part of Tour 2017, presented by Aon. Following the Real Salt Lake game, Mourinho's men will face some familiar foes - Manchester City in Houston on 20 July, Real Madrid in Santa Clara on 23 July, Barcelona in Washington DC on 26 July, Valerenga in Oslo on 30 July and Sampdoria in Dublin on 2 August.
