Movie Review: Texas Chainsaw Massacre (The Beginning)

Watched a rather gory movie last friday about a sadistic killer whose habit is to kill people by using a chainsaw. The title of this movie is called Texas Chainsaw Massacre: The Beginning.

The plot is simple: to kill as many people as possible. There is a free flow of blood in this movie and is definitely not for the faint hearted. I would like to suggest that you watched this movie with an empty stomach as the violent scenes are really very disgusting!

Be prepared for scenes of limbs being dismembered, throats being slit, bodies being battered to a bloody pulp, bloody scenes of killing, extreme violence and etc. Its a crimson mess of blood throughout the whole show.

The movie is 95 minutes long, maybe a tad too long for me to sit through a movie of this type... . I have to admit that after watching this movie, I don't seem to have anything special to discuss about in this posting, except that this show is one that will not be worth watching for in the first place.... .

* Texas Chainsaw Massacre: The Beginning is currently showing in cinemas and is rated R21 for its violence.

Details of the plot:

It's 1969. The conflict in Viet Nam has exploded to immeasurable proportions, and 18-year-old Dean Hill's number is up. Dean's brother Eric, who has already seen his share of combat, plans to take Dean to enlist in his beloved Marine Corps in hopes of keeping an eye on him rather than letting him take his chances at the local induction center. But Dean plans to confront Eric about dodging the draft after the boys and their respective girlfriends, Bailey and Chrissie, head across Texas for a final fling of serious fun.

Still from the movie: Matthew Bomer and Taylor Handley in a torture scene from the movie Texas Chainsaw Massacre: The Beginning

Rating: 2 stars out of 5 (We have had enough of movies that really seem to glorify violence: Examples like Saw, Hostel, See no evil.....)

Note: for fans that love to watch scenes of violence, blood and more blood being spilled.. .
