Nine Reds To Be Released

The Premier League’s list of released players, published on Friday, features the retiring Paul Scholes and eight Manchester United youngsters.

Scholes, who played his last match for the club on 19 May, is on the list of players formally being released on 1 July.

Michele Fornasier is the most active member of United's Under-21s to be on the list after forming a solid central defensive partnership with Tom Thorpe for much of the 2012/13 campaign. Frederic Veseli, a free transfer arrival from Manchester City, is also seeking a new club after injury ended his season prematurely.

Reece Brown has been released after finishing the term on loan at Ipswich Town while midfielder Luke Giverin spent most of the season at Royal Antwerp.

Luke Hendrie, John Cofie, Luke McCullough and Gyliano van Velzen are also available after finding it difficult to claim a place in the Reds' successful Under-21 team.
