Injuries Hit United Hard

Manchester United have flown to Spain for their Champions League clash with Real Sociedad without Danny Welbeck, Michael Carrick, Jonny Evans and Rafael.

But it was not all bad news for David Moyes as midfielder Tom Cleverley and defender Patrice Evra made the plane to Spain for Tuesday's game after coming through training.

The United manager got an indication of who he will have to choose from in training at Carrington this morning.

Carrick missed the weekend's Premier League win at Fulham with a calf problem and sat out the session. Defenders Evans (back) and Rafael (ankle), who were forced off with injury at Craven Cottage, also missed training.

However, Welbeck took part at the Aon Complex after a knee problem had kept him out of the Fulham game.

Playmaker Adnan Januzaj's participation at training appeared to show he suffered no bad reaction after his clash with Sascha Riether on Saturday.
