De Gea: United Are Fighting On Four Fronts For Trophies

David de Gea insists Manchester United are not prioritising any competition over another as their quest for silverware continues on four fronts.

Currently sixth in the Premier League, United are well placed to make a sustained push for silverware, with the club into the fourth round of the FA Cup, one game away from the EFL Cup final and in the knockout stages of the Europa League.

De Gea has won one Premier League title, one FA Cup and three Community Shields since moving to Old Trafford in 2011, and the Spaniard's taste for success is unrelenting.

"We are in the four competitions and we need to fight for everything," De Gea exclusively told Sky Sports News HQ.

"We are Manchester United. We are close to the (EFL Cup) final at Wembley and we need to start (preparing for that) on Saturday against Stoke.

"We want to keep winning. We are in a good run and we need to stay at the same level, try to win many games and then we can see where we finish in the league."

United were denied a 10th successive win in all competitions by bitter rivals Liverpool last Sunday, Zlatan Ibrahimovic's late header securing what could prove to be a vital point in the race for the title and top four.

Despite acknowledging the importance of United's comeback, De Gea was ultimately left with a tinge of disappointment and challenged his team-mates to bounce back at Stoke on Saturday.

"We were a bit disappointed with this game because we wanted to win," the 26-year-old added.

"We were playing at home in front of our fans and I think we deserved to win. We created a lot of chances, more than them, so we were a bit disappointed.

"Stoke is a tough game and a tough place to go. It's windy, it's a war and it's always difficult. But we need to go there with confidence and try to play our best football and win."

De Gea's development since joining United has been one of few positives the club have enjoyed following Sir Alex Ferguson's retirement in 2013.

Another player looking to follow De Gea's development, despite moving to United for a world-record fee last summer, is Paul Pogba, who endured a game to forget against Liverpool.

De Gea, who struggled himself when he arrived from Atletico Madrid, insists the Frenchman's quality cannot be called into question, although he recognised the struggles players have adapting to life in English football.

Asked if Pogba was still familiarising himself with life back in the Premier League, the United goalkeeper added: "No. He's a top player.

"He is really important for us. He's great in midfield, good in the dressing room. He's an amazing player.

"At the beginning when you don't know the country, the players and the football it's a bit difficult. But you have fight, train more and try to focus and have belief in yourself.

"At the beginning it was difficult for me. With new football, new players and a new language everything was hard. But I kept believing in myself and kept fighting.

"In this country, in any country, you can make mistake, we are humans. It is normal for goalkeeper and players to make mistakes."
